Job Description

  • Execute all advanced pricing and analysis requests
  • Lead the development and management of assigned underwriting and analyst teams
  • Handle special pricing and marketing projects
  • Meet with Producers, clients, Underwriters, and Account Executives to define and accomplish projects
  • Manage workload distribution for teams of Underwriters and Analysts
  • Assist in determining strategic team goals, resource planning, education/training needs, policy development, and business growth
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage relationships with insurance carriers, external consultants, third-party administrators, and vendors
  • Apply actuarial plan values in pricing and analysis projects using relevant software
  • Modify and customize underwriting models and reporting templates to meet customer needs
  • Lead and manage client underwriting projects and present analysis to clients
  • Assist Producers with prospecting activities, RFP responses, finalist presentations, and follow-up
  • Maintain data tracking and reporting for financial management, underwriting models, client reports, and analytical deliverables
  • Use carrier data and reporting systems to obtain claim data for reporting and analysis
  • Analyze and challenge insurance company renewal calculations for fully-insured contracts
  • Pursue education on underwriting knowledge, market trends, and regulatory environment
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, timeline management, and deadline compliance
  • Address and respond to correspondence
  • Lead training development and execution on underwriting and analysis topics
  • Maintain agency management system data standards and data integrity
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) or more years related work experience
  • One (1) or more years of management experience in leading a team of at least 3 individuals
  • Valid Insurance License
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
  • Ability to completely manage mid-level and large projects as well as effectively manage and lead assigned teams to complete goals
  • Ability to work productively as an individual to accomplish assigned projects
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
