Registered Nurse- Progressive Care Unit

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | 8-Week Contract | Torrance, CA

Associated Health Professionals (AHP) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for an exciting 8-week contract assignment at one of Los Angeles County's premier Level I Trauma Centers.

Assignment Details

• Department: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Contract Duration: 8-Week Assignment
• Shift: 12-hour (Day or Night shifts available)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Full-time; weekends and holidays required
• Location: Harbor-UCLA Medical Center – Torrance, CA

Responsibilities

As a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN, you will provide intermediate-level care to patients requiring close monitoring but not intensive care.

Responsibilities include performing frequent patient assessments and vital sign monitoring, responding quickly to changes in patient condition, administering medications and IV therapies, providing wound care and pain management, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care to the following patient populations:

• Patients recovering from major surgeries.
• Patients with serious medical conditions, including heart failure, respiratory illnesses, and severe infections.
• Patients transitioning from the ICU after stabilization.
• Patients using continuous cardiac telemetry.

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience must be in a Level I Trauma Hospital located in a metropolitan area serving a diverse patient population
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must be fully committed to completing the entire 8-week assignment
• Must successfully complete LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to the assignment start date
