Certified Nursing Assistant

Qualifications:

High School graduate pref.

1 year long-term care experience preferred.

Current active CA CNA Cert, BLS, Fire safety (cert. within 90 days of hire).

Provides the following personal care and comfort measures in the Long Term areas:

1. Bathing: bed, tub, and shower.
2. Haircare, shampoos, medicinal shampoos.
3. Shaving.
4. Dressing and undressing.
5. Oral hygiene and denture care.
6. Toileting.
7. Nail care, except that which requires a podiatrist.
8. Care of hearing aids, glasses, prosthetic devices, personal equipment and belongings.
9. Incontinence care.
10. Routine skin care.Reports any changes in skin integrity to Team Leader.
11. Prevention of pressure ulcers
12. Perineal care
13. Assistance with mobility: range of motion, transfers, ambulation, positioning, exercises as ordered and demonstrated by an RN or physical therapist.
14. Demonstrates ability to use mechanical transfer equipment including knowledge of safety measures (i.e., resident/patient lifting and weighing devices).
