Adult Education - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Instructor, Part Time

Job Summary

Simi Institute for Careers and Education is the adult education campus for the Simi Valley Unified School District. We are bringing back our LVN course after a 10-year hiatus, due to the growing demand from our community. We are seeking a part-time instructor(s) to assist with the program re-design, accreditation, and teaching of our LVN Program. Work hours must be performed on campus within the normal operating hours of the school: M-Th 8am-9pm, F 8am-4:30pm, and Sat 8am-4pm.

Requirements / Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications

1. Current and active California RN license

2. One of the following

>Baccalaureate degree from an approved school

>Valid teaching credential

>Eligibility for a Career Technical Education (CTE) teaching credential

>At least one year of full-time teaching experience (within the last 5 years) in a state-approved RN, LVN, or psychiatric technician program

>Meets California community college or state university teaching requirements

3. Minimum of two years of RN or LVN experience within the last five (5) years

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Qualifications

1. Current and active California LVN license

2. One of the following

>Baccalaureate degree from an approved school

>Valid teaching credential

>Eligibility for a Career Technical Education (CTE) teaching credential

>At least one year of full-time teaching experience (within the last 5 years) in a state-approved RN, LVN, or psychiatric technician program

>Meets California community college or state university teaching requirements
